Dr. Tsiatis graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo with a BA (with Honors) in Biology in 1973.  He graduated from Creighton University Dental School as a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 1978.  He was elected to membership in Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the National Honorary Dental Society.  He was also inducted into Alpha Sigma Nu, the national honorary society of Jesuit universities.

He recently received his certificate from NYU upon completion of a 60 session program over a period of 2 years, in implant Surgery and Prosthetics and is now a member of ICOI (International Congress of oral Implantologists). He takes great pleasure in practicing dentistry, interacting with his patients, and helping them maintain and improve their oral health and appearance. Dr. Tsiatis is married to Alexandra Soldatos Tsiatis, and has three children, of whom he is very proud.  He has been active in the St. Nicholas Church of Flushing, having served as a parish council member, treasurer, and president.
